Harry Tucker

On - Air

Harry “The Music Curmudgeon” Tucker joined WBXO Radio in 2010, playing his favorite eclectic rock hits, and has been a fixture here since that time. Harry began his commercial career in radio when he joined NBC Radio in 1969, retiring in 2014. Like many on staff here, he’s worked with some of the top names in the entertainment industry. He is known for his extreme love of “Eclectic Rock Music,” steadfastly promising not to play any burnt-out classic rock hits -- which translates into 95% of our music library. He has kept that promise from day one.

MATT LASKORSKI

Broadcast Engineer

Though relatively new to radio (he joined the WBXO staff in 2017), Matt Laskorski is no stranger to either technical work or classic rock. Named to the National Technical Honor Society in 2014, Matt's understanding of the way electronic components work have enabled him to catch on quickly as a WBXO staff engineer, primarily assigned to "Sunday Night Live." Additionally, his vast knowledge...and love...of all things classic rock ('70s-'80s a specialty) enable him to assist in programming the music you'll hear on that show. Matt hopes to work full-time as a computer technician, as well as part-time at WBXO.

DR. JOE PHILLIPS

On- Air Talent

Dr. Joe Phillips joined WBXO Radio in 2014. He is the host of "Metal Madness," where you can hear the best new hard rock and heavy metal music. Having played in bands himself, the good Doctor knows it can be a challenge for new rock bands to get off the ground; therefore, his programs strive to make certain tomorrow's' classics can be appreciated today. Joe currently lives in Pennsylvania, so "Metal Madness" only airs on special occasions.  Make certain to be on the lookout for it!

LAURA PICARDO

Producer / On- Air Talent

Laura Picardo works in the WBXO Radio Specials Unit.  She worked in non-commercial radio while attending and graduating from Marquette University in Wisconsin, joining the WBXO ranks in 2008.  She produces most of our long-term Christmas and St. Patrick's Day-themed shows, and is a valued member of the team.  Rumor has it she enjoys Irish soda bread!

RICK PICARDO

Broadcast Engineer

Engineer extraordinaire Rick Picardo’s love of radio began as a child of the '60s -- listening to the “WMCA Good Guys,” waiting for The Beatles' latest 45 by day and falling asleep to Yankee baseball at night. WMCA was later replaced by Seton Hall University’s WSOU, where Rick assumed the mantle of DJ, music director and program director. This would lead him to a career in the music and jingle businesses, and then to NBC. He has called NBC home for the last 36 years, doing audio post-production and video playback. He currently works for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. Rick has been an engineer with WBXO since 2013, when he engineered his daughter Laura’s St. Patrick’s Day broadcast.

RICHARD CARLSON

Master Carpenter/Facilities Manager

Master Carpenter Richard Carlson was the original designer/project manager of the construction of our current facility. A carpenter by trade, his style of design and implementation is unsurpassed in the industry. A man who is known by legend to carry a harmonica everywhere he goes, Rich is a lover of Kentucky Bluegrass Music and listens to it anytime we’ll let him, which isn’t very often.
